Hello There!!

Well Happy New Year everyone! I hope the New Year has begun with an excitement of what the Lord has before you in 2009.

Lately, my mind has been on patience. I was reading in Luke when Christ begins to explain the parable of the sower and the seed.

Luke 8
11Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

12Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

13They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

14And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

15But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

It made me really think about patience and how without patience we would fall away. We have to be patient in trials for the deliverance of God. We have to have patience when we seek God for his will because he doesn't always answer the second we rise from our knees. Even in the good times we have to have patience. These thoughts brought me to this other scripture,

James 1

3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Am I allowing patience have her perfect work? All these thoughts have really given me a little deeper understanding of the scripture,

Luke 21
19In your patience possess ye your souls.

I am thankful for these thoughts. It has been very edifying to me to read all the different scriptures about patience. Now I just have to keep it before me. Love you all!
